"But for Ireland, I'd Not Tell Her Name"
This book is written and illustrated by Gerard Taylor. The title is based on the traditional Irish air Ar Éireann Ni Neosfainn Cé Hi. The author's great uncle Joe Collins lived in Botany in Lismore and worked as a baker. During the War of Independence he joined with the local republicans. He climbed up a ladder with two cans of petrol and set fire to the courthouse in Lismore, suffered burns but escaped capture.
The book tells the story of the family in Lismore and is part fact and part fiction and is illustrated with colour illustrations by the author.
