The
committee and staff of the museum were very sad to hear of the recent passing
of John Young and we would like to extend our condolences to his family. John made a notable contribution to
preserving Dungarvan’s history with his publication “A Maritime and General
History of Dungarvan 1690 – 1978”. In
later years John was best known as a tour guide. He guided many groups around the town and
imparted both his knowledge and love for the locality to them. For many
visitors John’s tour was the highlight of their holiday.
