This
engraving is based on a drawing by the artist Marianne Stokes (1855-1927). She was born Preindisberger in Austria. She settled in England on marrying Adrian
Stokes.
She became one of the leading
artists of Victorian England. It and
others were used to illustrate an article on Lismore/Cappoquin in the English
Illustrated Magazine.
