It contains an impressive amount of information
on various topics such as local families, the famine, placenames, churches, houses, landlords and the poet Piaras MacGearailt. The site will be of great interest to local people, students and local historians.

18th March 2014 The Houses of the Middle Blackwater Region talk by David Whelan

Ballyduff History and Heritage Club

David Whelan will give a talk titled "The Houses of the Middle Blackwater Region" David has a PhD in Archaeology and his family hail from the Ballyduff area.

Date: Tuesday 18th March

Venue: St Michael's Hall, Ballyduff

Time: 8 pm

Some of the houses discussed will include Kilmurray, Mount Rivers, Mocollop, Fortwillaim and Salterbridge.

Members of the 69th Regiment New York visits the Museum

On Monday 10th March 3 members of the 69th Regiment from New York visited the Museum.
The 69th Regiment was founded by Thomas Francis Meagher and have supported the 1848 Tricolour Celebrations since its inception in 2010. This year was the 166th anniversary of the first flying of the Tricolour on the Mall in Waterford.

William Fraher, Museum President, presented Col. James Tierney with a copy of "Dungarvan Historic Guide & Town Trail" and "On This Day"
